Who We Are
Annabelle Carter is a local highly skilled seamstress & dressmaker who specialises in bespoke occasion wear & clothing alterations.
Having graduated from Birmingham City University in 2018 with a BA (hons) Fashion Design Degree specialising in Design for Performance, she started up her own business, Annabelle Carter Designs, whilst previously working alongside fellow local seamstress and friend Cherilyn, at Leesons.
Annabelle & Cherilyn have since partnered up to launch The Alteration Specialists, located in Rushtons Yard, Ashby De La Zouch, Leicestershire. This is where Annabelle Carter Designs now operates from as of June 2023, having previously been based in Ibstock.
In November 2023, Annabelle launched a new collection of made to order pet clothing and accessories under the brand The Fashionable Hound Company. This brand also operates out of the Rushtons Yard premises in Ashby De La Zouch.

Our made to measure occasion wear includes, but is not limited to, bridal, bridesmaids, flower girl gowns and graduation/prom dresses.
The Alteration Specialists
Annabelle Carter & Cherilyn Leeson
Seamstresses Annabelle & Cherilyn partnered up to launch The Alteration Specialists in June 2023, located in Rushtons Yard, Ashby De La Zouch, Leicestershire.
As wedding alteration specialists, they ask that all wedding alterations are booked in advance to ensure they have availability.
A general alteration service is also offered, however general alteration walk ins are subject to availability and are limited to Fridays 9am-5pm & Saturdays 9am-2pm.
Please note even on days that are open for walk ins, they may be in fittings and therefore timings for general alterations are never guaranteed unless pre-booked.

Made To Order Pet Clothing & Accessories
Launched in November 2023, The Fashionable Hound Company boasts a wide range of stylish pet clothing & accessories, ranging from coats through to leads and collars.
Products are made to order using high quality materials to ensure longevity and comfort for your pet, whilst also doing our bit to reduce fabric waste where possible.
With sizes ranging from XS through to XL, we're sure you can find the perfect fit for your pet. However, as each item is made to order, should there be any issues with sizing this is rectifiable by sending us an email with your requirements with your order number as a reference.
